Fear, discouragement, pessimism and defensive attitude are all symptoms of dissatisfaction at work.
I would even add that the first predicate of physical pain is precisely that dissatisfaction. This may or may not surprise you. This is one of the first questions I ask my clients when they complain of physical pain during our work sessions.
The pandemic we have been living for more than seven months is further exacerbating the mental distress of professional workers.
Any physical problem is always a sign of a lack of self-love. We don't love ourselves enough to allow ourselves to be who we want to be deep inside us, but the more we allow ourselves to be just that, the more we will allow ourselves to be also be who we don’t want to be.
Wisdom from the stove's bavette
It is impossible to excel in everything. So, ask for help early (it will be easier to receive it), ask for help with kindness and ask for it often. This vulnerability isn’t a weakness. On the contrary, it demonstrates that you are not a machine, but a human. I realized that women often work as if they don't have a body. That's enough! In retrospect, I was in that category for too long.
We must catch ourselves (as I like to say) and remove the foot from the accelerator and give ourself permission to rest.
Accepting what is without making a big deal out of it or exaggerating the difficulties is a good place to start.
Of course, self-mockery, pulling yourself out of the guilt trip and focusing on what is essential could make a difference.
The first five years of my counselling practice at Emotions360 have made me notice that the symptoms mentioned above and many others indicate a glaring lack of relaxation. And THE thing that one forgets in these moments of stress is to breathe. I teach my clients a way to breathe that reconnects their brains to their hearts and necessarily their bodies. Then they have access to their emotions, they can make better decisions since their prefrontal cortex is functioning again and their thoughts shifts in no time.
My services help to relieve stressors, transform perceptions, thoughts, emotions and behaviors, giving you the results, you are seeking.
It is by regaining full contact with oneself that one can change. The emotions you experience during this distress are not good or bad: they exist and want to be experienced instead of being repressed. It just happens that emotions are my zone of genius.
